Please be aware that Longwood Police have responded to a report made today of a sexual assault at Longwood Village. The alleged assault occurred Tuesday, Sept. 28, and did not involve Longwood faculty, staff, or students. A person of interest has been identified in the investigation and the matter referred to the Commonwealth’s Attorney.

If you are the survivor of a sexual assault, you have options and help available to you. To file a criminal report of sexual assault, call Longwood Police at 434-395-2091 or dial 911.

Notice: Information on Buffalo St. reports

Please be aware that Farmville police, in conjunction with Longwood University police, have responded to reports involving a man seeking out student parties in the area of Buffalo Street. They have identified and been in contact with the person, and have instructed him to stay away from campus.

At this time, Farmville police have not received any reports of break-ins or thefts in the area. If you have a crime to report, please call LUPD at 434-395-2091 or FPD at 434-392-3332 to report it.

Longwood and Farmville police will continue to patrol the Buffalo Street area frequently, and urge everyone in the campus community to be aware of your surroundings and walk in groups, especially at night. They also remind students not to allow uninvited guests into your house or social gatherings, and report suspicious activity to policy.
