Longwood University will open at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, due to expected icy conditions. For 8 a.m. classes that are canceled faculty should communicate with students about their plans, which may include meeting online or alternative assignments. Students should check their email and Canvas for communications. Longwood University campus will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, due to inclement weather and expected icy conditions. The women’s basketball home game vs. High Point at 7 p.m. will go on as scheduled.

Campus community, Please be aware that the Longwood Title IX Office is investigating a report of a non-stranger sexual assault early Sunday morning in a campus residence hall involving a Longwood student. Campus community, Grainger Hall has been cleared and is now re-opened. Faculty and staff can return to gather belongings, and classes will be held in Grainger as scheduled tomorrow. Longwood University police responded to an online bomb threat made that referenced Grainger Hall. Regional partner agencies, including Virginia State Police and Farmville Police Department, assisted in responding and clearing the building. Police have a person of interest in custody, and the situation is now resolved. Thank you to everyone for clearing the building and nearby classrooms in the Rotunda quickly and efficiently. For the safety of the campus community, LUPD and the university take all potential threats seriously and follow specific protocols and procedures when threats like these are made.
