6-29-25 suspect

Campus community, we are sharing a message sent by the Prince Edward Sheriff’s Office this morning: “Prospect/Pamplin area Per Sheriff Epps, this morning around 7:30AM there was a sighting of a homicide suspect, by Farmville Police Officer on Prince Edward Highway (460) and Hixburg Road. The suspect fired at the officer and took off on foot down Hixburg Road. There is currently a large search on going by multiple local and state law enforcement agencies. The suspect, 24 year old black male was last seen wearing no shirt and black pants. He is armed and dangerous, DO NOT ENGAGE THE SUSPECT. Residents within a 5 miles radius of Prince Edward Highway and Hixburg Rd are advised to shelter in place.” Based on information available to Longwood at this time, the shelter in place advisory does not include Longwood campus.
